The vocalist is Devon Dawson, on the 1997 recording of the Cowtown Opry Cowboys CD, “Texas, Our Texas, and Other Favorite Songs of the Lone Star State”, produced by Cowtown Opry founder, Jean Marlowe. The cut was recorded at Lake Sound in Keller, Texas, engineered by Rex Lake.
Marlowe is playing piano, the fiddler is the late Bob Bone, whistler is John Cromer, acoustic bass is Mark Abbott (now a member of the Sons of the Pioneers), ‘Roncho’ Ron McRuiz is on percussion, Devon Dawson on rhythm guitar, harmonies by Cromer and McRuiz.
