Highlights of the 2014 EcoDiesel Engine Include:

  • Best-in-Class Torque: The EcoDiesel engine delivers best-in-class 420 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an impressive 240 horsepower, this engine has serious muscle.
  • Low CO2 Emissions: Equipped with a diesel oxidation catalyst, diesel particulate filter and selective catalyst reduction, the EcoDiesel V6 engine will be emissions-compliant in all 50 states.
  • B20 BioDiesel Capable: Biofuel produces less air pollutants and less greenhouse gas emissions, making the EcoDiesel V6 engine the cleanest light-duty engine available.

Nice truck with the ecodiesel, but I want that motor, with the 8 speed, in a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Ramcharger 4×4 laramie, with electronic locking front and rear differentals please…

Their not going to drop the Durango/Jeep Grand Cherokee to build a Ramcharger, it would be the Durango it’s modeled after any way! The Ramcharger and Trailduster never did live up to expectations any way, and this comes from an old school Mopar Maniac!

You are not going to offer this for Express or Sport buyers? Seems odd. Not all of us enjoy all that chrome.

Holy Diesel Batman!!! I’m a 2008 RAM 2500 with a Cummins 6.7L owner, this makes me feel good to know that my sons could get a RAM 1500 with a diesel in the future to follow in the old man’s footsteps sort of speak…

OK, this article said the truck would be available late 2013. We are going on the 3rd week of 2014 and I still can’t find this truck ANYWHERE! Does it really exist? I’ve even gone to car shows dedicated to NEW cars/trucks and there’s no Ram 1500 Eco Diesel to be found….WTF? I have 3 buyers for my current truck and they want to know what my problem is. They find it hard to believe that the truck I’ve been saying I was going to buy as far back as July 2013 still does not exist. Can we get some kind of update or explanation for this? I recall Ford promising a 4.4L diesel for their F150 and I went through this same scenario. That truck never existed either. Is the 1500 Ram Eco Diesel going to be another 4.4L Diesel F150??

Yes it is available. I just looked on ramtrucks.com I looked to price it in a Laramie edition and it was an option for an extra $2,850

Just because you can fill out an order request does not mean it is available. It means you get put on a waiting list. Do a search on AutoTrader.com and put in the search engine: Ram1500, Quad Cab, Diesel and for the distance put “Any Distance” and for price put “Any Price” and the search results come back “0”.

Ram would have done better to go with the Cummins diesel v6 they were considering a few years ago. This Italian job won’t set well with Redstate Americans
