Ram 2500 Heavy Duty
At this year’s North American International Auto Show in downtown Detroit, the Ram brand had relatively little planned in the way of big announcements. Happily, that plan was upended when an expert panel of 49 American and Canadian auto journalists named the 2013 Ram 1500 North American Truck/Utility Vehicle of the Year.
Apart from having a prestigious new award to show off, the Ram Brand also brought a small fleet of Ram Trucks to display. Show trucks included a Ram 1500 Big Horn with a 3.6L Pentastar® V-6, a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty with a 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel, a Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn Edition with a 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel, a tough-as-nails Ram Power Wagon with 37” tires and a 5.7L HEMI® V-8 and, finally, a true workhorse in the form of a Ram 5500 Heavy Duty Chassis Cab with dump body upfit.
Ram fans in the Detroit area can see each of these trucks in person by attending the NAIAS during public days, ongoing now through January 27. For Ram fans too far away to visit, please see below for the next best thing: a gallery of photographs collected the first day of the event.
