The Ram Brand Goes to Work: ProMaster Van Production Begins

Big changes in work vans are rolling off the assembly line. The new 2014 Ram ProMaster, Ram Commercial’s latest addition to its popular vehicle lineup, recently began production at the Saltillo Van Assembly Plant. Produced in Coahuila, Mexico, and based on the Fiat Ducato, ProMaster boasts the DNA of a 30-year heritage of commercial vehicles produced by Fiat Professional.

For business owners in need of an efficient and powerful vehicle, ProMaster features a best-in-class payload of 4,417 lbs. and a standard 3.6L Pentastar® V-6 with 280 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. For those who demand even more from a work vehicle, ProMaster also features a 180-amp alternator, available 220-amp ABS disc brakes with electronic stability control, trailer sway damping and all-speed traction control.

Additional highlights include standard 6-speed automatic transmission (FWD), 8,550-lbs GVW Rating, 14 available configurations, including Cargo Van, Window Van, Chassis Cab and Cutaway Variations, and 118-, 136- and 159-inch with High-Roof configurations.
