Never mind that Austin, Texas, is known the world over for its vibrant music scene; for one Austin resident, there is no sweeter music than the sound of his truck’s diesel engine. Here’s Steve H. to expound on what we mean.
I own a 2004 Ram 2500 with the 5.9-liter Cummins turbo diesel. It is a pre-emissions engine that ended production in 2006. I love this truck so much. It is powerful and fast.
Starting and driving the motor is music to my ears. I don’t listen to the radio; I listen to the engine. The 5.9-liter Cummins turbo diesel engine is part of the brand’s legacy and helps define it. Please honor and respect this proud heritage as Ram Trucks moves into the future.
Don’t worry, Steve. We’ll do all that we can to preserve—and improve upon—everything you love about our trucks from the past, capable diesel powertrains being no exception.
