It’s safe to say your favorite trucks just got even better.
Everything is bigger in Texas – which is why we made several exciting Ram Truck product announcements this morning at the State Fair of Texas.
It all started a few weeks ago when we revealed the new special-edition 2017 Ram 1500 Night Package — an appearance package that dominates the blacktop while giving truck fans the straight-from-the-factory customized, bold style they’ve been asking for.
The excitement continued this morning in Dallas – where several other Ram Brand product reveals were underway live from the State Fair of Texas. Here’s everything you need to know about this morning’s announcements:
The Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups with the premium Limited trim can now be ordered with black RAM tailgate letters on Brilliant Black and Granite Crystal Metallic exteriors for a monochromatic appearance.
For 2017, the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 Laramie Longhorn models will be updated with a new front-end look. This will include an available bright chrome billet port grille option with RAM lettering and chrome belt moldings.
Also new for the Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty Laramie, Longhorn and Limited models is the 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 as standard equipment.
Introducing: The 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition
One out of every five Ram trucks is sold in Texas. From half-tons to diesel duallys, it seems everyone in Texas has a truck … which is why we’re excited to bring you another Texas-only model: the 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition.
One of the most visible changes is a new Lone Star grille badge made of milled and polished aluminum.
The 2017 Ram 1500 Lone Star Silver Edition has chrome and bright work in all the right places. From the grille, to the side-view mirrors, to the polished 20-inch wheels and front tow hooks, this truck is bred to work hard and look good doing it.
The interior of the Lone Star Silver Edition offers high-back, cloth front bucket seats in choice of two color combinations: Canyon Brown/Light Frost Beige or Black/Diesel Gray.
The 2017 Lone Star Silver Edition is available on Ram 1500 Crew Cab models with either two- or four-wheel drive. You have the option to choose either the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, or the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel powertrain option with class-leading fuel efficiency.*
Introducing: The Ram Rebel TRX Concept
We saved the best for last. Ram engineers got the chance to let their imaginations run wild and created a rocket-fast off-road concept truck – and it’s safe to say that they nailed it.
Introducing the Ram Rebel TRX Concept truck, the ultimate off-road machine.
This is a ground-stomping, functional concept for aggressive, high-speed off-road use – the most powerful factory-engineered half-ton pickup ever. It’s purposefully built to handle harsh terrain at speeds greater than 100 mph.
- 575 horsepower
- 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8
- 15-inch front and 14-inch rear, slotted, drilled brakes
- 6-piston calipers
- 37-inch tires
- Over 13 inches of front and rear wheel travel
The Rebel TRX concept is six inches wider than a standard Ram Rebel. The chiseled front end, with its all-new front grille and bumper, is based on the Rebel and provides additional airflow to cool the supercharged V8 engine.
As far as the interior goes, engineers intentionally removed hard points inside the cockpit, and included a padded TRX instrument panel. We added six-point harnesses to the front seats and side bolsters to help keep thrill seekers from sliding around.
There you have it, the Ram Rebel TRX Concept – the ultimate off-road machine.
Stay tuned for more exciting coverage and content from all of today’s announcements. We’re just getting started.
