Ram Truck Goes to Work in Pittsburgh

This week, we kick off our Real People, Real Trucks series on RamZone with a stop in Pittsburgh, where we spoke to Mark Purcell and the guys at Steel City Landscape. As in any business, the equipment you operate can make or break you. That’s why they choose Ram Truck. The toughness and durability of the 2500, 3500 and 4500 models allow them to operate in all sorts of extreme conditions and with the Cummins turbo diesel, they can haul up to 10,000 pounds of landscape supplies along with trailers and equipment to the job sites. The guys at Steel City Landscape also use their fleet of Rams for plowing and salting the hilly roads around Pittsburgh. With the huge amount of snowfall they’ve had this year, they’ve had to run their trucks straight for 38 hours at times to keep up with what Mother Nature throws at them.

Mark and his staff know a good thing when they see it. “I bought my first Ram in the mid -90s because of the styling, and I love the way the Ram looks,” Mark said. “They’ve put the technology behind it to back that up and make it a great work truck.”

“We put them to the test and they do a better job than anyone” said foreman Jordan Kinzler. “We’ve used other brands of trucks and the Ram truck is superior. They never have a shortage of power and the fuel economy is great!” Check out the video to see how the guys at Steel City Landscape put their fleet of Ram trucks through their daily workout.
How does your truck get the job done? We want to hear about it all – from work to play – we love a good story! If you’ve got pictures to go along with your story, drop them on our Flickr page.

    Nice Dodge RAM’s…

If I lived in your area I would look you up,when I need work done..Rather give money to a guy who buys a Mopar than a Furd,Chebby or Toyodah !!

  • My first Ram I bought in 1994, and they are the only trucks I buy. My current truck, a 2008 3500 Mega Cab 4×4 has never had any problems and I still have the original brakes because I use the engine brake all of the time. I use my truck to haul a car trailer and a 38ft 5th wheel travel trailer. It hauls both trailers like they are not even there! The 6.7 Cummins is a awesome engine!

Good job RAM! My first Ram Vehicle, (and it WON’T BE MY LAST) is a 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT Big Horn 4×4! Love this truck, it hauls a 2007 31ft living quarters horse trailer everywhere, with out its driver even knowing its back there! Keep up the good work Ram!
