After weeks of speculation among you Ram heads out there, we final revealed our new truck and its new name at the Dallas Auto Show, is the ‘Ram 1500 Express.’ Back in February, we announced this new youthful sports truck with the code name ‘Adventurer.’ The 2011 Ram 1500 Express can trace its DNA back to one of our original muscle pick-ups, the 1978 Li’l Red Express Truck. The formula is similar, a hot engine with great looks at an attractive price. Our mission today is to make a truck for young buyers looking for an awesome platform to personalize and customize without draining their bank account. First, a team of gear heads down in our engine dynamometer cells made sure to give it some serious muscle under the hood; our legendary 390 horsepower 5.7L HEMI® V8 is standard! The 5.7L HEMI V8 will also knock down around 20 mpg making gas stops less frequent on those weekend road trips. We even threw in a 3.55 rear axle ratio but if you like to ‘sprint’ from stoplight-to-stoplight, we recommend the 3.92 cogs.
The Ram 1500 Express is not just one-dimensional, it’s a great running truck that will make a visual statement among your peers. Our designers crafted some great exterior touches that feature a racy monochromatic paint scheme that includes a body color front fascia and grille with black inserts. We even color matched the rear fascia and sculpted it around those beautiful dual chrome exhaust tips that emit harmonious sounds. In addition, we also added 20-inch aluminum wheels and fog lamps that’ll give the Ram 1500 Express more street attitude.
