Ram Chassis Cab – An Upfitters Dream!

At the NTEA Work Truck Show last month, we had a chance to showcase our new Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab models to fleet operators, equipment buyers, dealers and small business owners. These folks came to the show looking for the latest in the heavy-duty truck and special equipment market – from bare chassis to full service-bodied work trucks.

It’s no secret that Ram is committed to the commercial truck market, as we work with equipment upfitters in making sure they have a great platform. Our commercial-grade trucks showed just how “upfit friendly” the Ram Chassis Cab models are. Important things like an industry-standard 34-inch frame-rail spacing, below frame rail chassis components, integrated upfitter dash switches and through-the-fame rail fuel filler neck all combine to make the installation of unique and special equipment hassle free for manufacturers. Rather than taking our word for it, check out the video of upfitters explaining in their own words what makes Ram different.

Looks great! EXCEPT-dayton rims and tires???? Get with the times! Hub pilot is the only way to go. Nothing looks worse than a vehicle going down the road with wobbly wheels. I have worked the tire industry over ten years and less than 3% of tire technicians know how (and actually do) straighten a dayton wheel on a truck!
