If you’re like most of us you’ve probably entered a contest at least once in your lifetime; and like most of us, you’ve had zero to no expectation of ever winning. But have you ever entered our BusinessLink contest to win a Ram truck?
If you are Jesse Fowlkes of Independence, Iowa, you’ve both entered and won.
While visiting the Hawkeye Farm show in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jesse stopped by a BusinessLink booth to get the low-down. He rubbed elbows with representatives of the specialized dealership network within the Chrysler Group LLC, which focuses on commercial consumer’s specific needs. Jesse casually completed an entry form for a national sweepstakes to win a Ram truck and then—like most of us would—forgot all about it.
Being a nationwide program, Jesse had little to no expectation of winning. So, to say that Jesse hadn’t expected to hear from us was an understatement. When Jesse did win he actually thought it was a scam. It took him three whole weeks to call back our BusinessLink liaison and exclusive Ram dealer, Monte Boevers over at Junge Center Point, in Center Point, Iowa. Once he realized it was the real deal, he headed to the dealership to order his truck.
Jesse works on a farm and owns a plow company, so a great truck is critical to his livelihood and his business’ bottom line. After discussing his true needs with a BusinessLink sales expert at Junge Center Point, he decided to upgrade from a Ram 1500 to a Ram 2500 with a Cummins Diesel engine, since fuel economy and towing capability were top priorities. Jesse picked up his new truck a couple of weeks ago, and now his new Ram 2500 spends most of its time hitched up; hauling either his 35-foot trailer filled to the max with hay or pulling his 24-foot long gooseneck trailer.
Thanks to the BusinessLink program Jesse now has a truck that can tow up to 15,450 poundsand has the payload capacity of up to 3,120 pounds—something his old truck just wasn’t able to do for him. He says he couldn’t be happier with his new truck or the sales and service experience. It almost goes without saying that if Jesse ever gets another voicemail message saying he’s won something great, he probably won’t wait three weeks to return the call. Congratulations Jesse.
