A fleet of plug-in hybrid electric Ram 1500 trucks are headed to Texas. Chrysler Group LLC provided CenterPoint Energy with a test fleet as part of a demonstration in Houston. The trucks were developed in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, and will accumulate real world city miles over the next three years. The trucks will be used to evaluate city drive cycles, charging, and real world performance.
