Ram 1500 has been named among Consumer Digest’s “Best Buys” in automotive for 2011. “The 1500 has proven itself to be a tough customer when asked to work for a living,” said Consumer Digest. “And it doesn‘t hurt that the styling, which is updated but still familiar, defines what a pickup should look like.”
Ram was recognized for, among other things, its smooth-riding suspension, V-6-powered entry-level availability, and optional 5.7-liter 390-hp HEMI V8. Consumer Digest also recognized the RamBox® Cargo Management System for its lockable, drainable storage, noting “You can put groceries next to a load of gravel.” RamBox® protects your precious cargo from the elements, while retaining full, rugged use of the bed – plus, RamBox® keeps your tailgate beverages cool.
Editors name the Ram 1500 in their annual automotive publication which judges vehicles based on ergonomics, fit and finish, utility, acceleration, fuel economy and more. They also look at cost of ownership variables such as resale value, warranty, maintenance costs and annual operating expenses. The top vehicles in 12 separate categories are then chosen as “Best Buys” by the publication.
