Ram 5500 Laramie Long Hauler is Built for the Long Haul

Just because Ram trucks are built for tough duty doesn’t mean you have to compromise luxury in the cab. Our innovative team of truck designers have done their research and developed a concept vehicle that is not only built for the long road ahead, but that’s comfortable and stylish enough on the inside to make any cowboy feel like he’s back in the warmth of his cozy, leather-clad den back at the ranch.

Since the Ram 5500 Laramie Long Hauler is just a concept vehicle at this point, there’s no opportunity to get one of your own… yet. Nonetheless, RamZone caught up with the Ram cowboys at the recent Cowboy Christmas Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, where this special truck was on display and rodeo goers could get an up close and personal look at the vehicle.

  • Ram engineers need to play this right. With stiff emtpcoition with the other two, we need a V8 pushing 500 hp and 500 ftlbs of torque. This is for diesel owners like me that want a new truck but don’t want to spend 8-10 grand for a new diesel. Ram needs some sort of locking (not limited) slip rear axle. You have this technology with the Power Wagon bring it over. Make the Outdoorsman package a Power Wagon lite. Meaning, give us the tires, rear locker, and better shocks (bilstein, rancho, etc.). Keep the 4.10 axle ratio as an option and bump up our tow and haul ratings 2-3 thousand more. While your at it, throw a new 8-speed tranny, and you will have many guys like me knocking down your door to buy your truck!!!!!

    How much do one of these cost?

  • does it or will it be offered with manuel transmission or an allison transmission because if it only comes with the aison transmission or the current automatic it is worthless and not worth owning that transmission sucks and so does the warrenty i work for a mechanic shop that has a fleet of trucks and they have had nothing but problems with the transmission the rest of the truck is great but the transmission sucks

    This is for RAM!! Why build and show off this truck and then make it impossible to purchase??!! I am more than interested and ready to purchase this vehicle so if there is anyone who has more info on this truck especially on how or where to purchase it please share that with me!!
