Here’s a feature that was once available only on fuel-sipping hybrid vehicles. RAM engineers have integrated this advanced technology into the all-new 2013 RAM 1500, creating a first-in-segment: Start-Stop.
Start-Stop technology automatically shuts off your RAM’s engine at traffic lights and other travel interruptions, then automatically restarts it again when you press on the throttle. No driver intervention is required. Since the engine no longer idles for prolonged periods, the result is a significant reduction in fuel consumption, especially in city driving.
This new system is just one of the advances that allow the 2013 RAM 1500 to offer up to 20 percent greater fuel efficiency than previous models. Other gas-saving features include electronic power steering, 3.6L Pentastar V6 and the new TorqueFlite 8 automatic eight-speed transmission.
