RAM Trucks at the Kentucky Derby

It’s not two minutes, it’s a lifetime. That was the theme for RAM’s presence at the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby.

Focusing on hard work, determination, and toughness, RAM brought to light a different side of the Derby. RAM was the official truck of Kentucky Derby® 138, and had on site print and digital advertising to support the partnership. Many of the support vehicles on the grounds were also RAM Trucks, further showcasing the capability and durability of the brand.

RAM was also the presenting sponsor of the 138th running of the Kentucky Oaks. The Kentucky Oaks is a more local celebration at the Downs, but still carries a large cash purse and sees many of thoroughbred racing’s top up-and-coming horses and includes many of the same jockeys that ride in the Derby.

The overall experience and atmosphere at Churchill Downs on race day is unlike any other in sports. From the infield to Millionaire’s Row to the owners’ boxes, everyone is part of the action and breathless with excitement from the time the gates open to the moment the horses cross the finish line.

For those who have been to the Derby, it isn’t hard to understand why they call it the greatest two minutes in sports. This year was no exception as the winning horse I’ll Have Another accomplished what was thought to be impossible, coming from the 19th pole position to win the Kentucky Derby even as Bodemeister was setting record times around the track. For I’ll Have Another, his jockey Mario Gutierrez, his trainer Doug O’Neill, and his owner J. Paul Reddam, the Kentucky Derby® 138 was truly “Hard Earned, not Hard Won.” Congratulations and well done!
