Welcome back to RamZone’s reader-submitted story series, Real People, Real Trucks. This week, we have a good one from Caleb S. of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, who, for all the right reasons (see below), is hard at work restoring an old Ram Truck more than 10 years his senior.
My name is Caleb. I’m 17 years old, and I have a 1984 Dodge Ram D150. My pap purchased this truck when it was new back in 1984. He drove the truck every day, and used it to do things such as pull the camper every summer and some other things from the time he bought it up until the mid-1990s, when he gave it to my father. When my father got the truck, he also drove it every day up until 2003, when he parked it. I have quite a few memories in this truck from when I was a kid. In 2010, I asked my father what he was going to do with the truck, and he gave me the keys and told me that it was up to me. Just recently, in late January, my grandfather passed away. I am slowly working on restoring the truck in memory of my grandfather.
Great story, Caleb. We wish you the best of luck with the restoration. Be sure to keep us updated, which is to say, send us pictures of your progress!
