- Story of Glory:
“Growing up I was a chubby kid. I played soccer as a left sweeper, and I started losing weight the more I played. My coach didn’t trust me to play a whole game, and he told me I wasn’t fast enough and that I would get tired quickly, although he never tried me in a whole game. One year we made it to the playoffs, and we were facing a superior team. As luck would have it, our starting left sweeper got hurt, and I had the chance to get in the game as early as the middle of the first half. We were already trailing 1-0, and my coach said, “Ready Zak? Show us what you got.” I was so nervous and my heart was pounding so hard. All I was thinking was, “Please don’t faint.” With ten minutes left in the game, we had two corner kicks, and I scored a header to tie the game and then scored the winning deflection goal.”
Congratulations again to Zak and also a big thank-you to the many Ram fans who submitted stories to this contest. You are all champions in our eyes.
