Ram Truck Goes Angling with Ryan Said

Next angling season’s going to be a good one for Ram Truck and fisherman Ryan Said. We’re proud to announce that Ram Truck will be the principal sponsor for Said when he competes in the 2011 Bassmaster Classic and Bassmaster Elite Series this year. He’ll be riding in style on the way to the lake with a brand-new Ram Truck Outdoorsman as his tow vehicle, and we plan on covering his boat in Ram Truck colors to boot. Said may be able to sneak up on some of the biggest bass we’ve ever laid eyes on, but he’ll be easy to spot for the rest of us next season.
This will mark the first time that Said has competed in either the Bassmaster Classic or the Bassmaster Elite Series. In fact, when he’s not scouring back issues of Bassmasters Magazine and putting a line in the water, Said works as an engineer with the Chrysler group helping to design some of the most hardworking vehicles on the planet. We like to think that the patience and attention to detail that he applies at work helps him out on the lake when it comes time choose a lure and where to cast his line.
Said will be joined by 20 other rookies all looking to make a name for themselves in one of the most competitive angling events in the world when he steps into the Bassmaster Classic and the Bassmaster Elite series. But for him, the tournaments aren’t all about the glamour and the fame. While those elements are bound to be a challenge, Said seems to know how handle it.
“Mostly, it’s keeping your head on straight,” said Said. “There’s glitz, glamor, media and 100,000 fans at the Classic. I need to focus on the fishing, because the competition comes from all over the world and they’re absolutely the best anglers you’ll ever see.”
With a plan like that, we know you’ll have no problem doing what you do best, Said.
Ram Truck owners are some of the most devoted fishermen we’ve ever come across. Here’s some numbers to chew on: around 44 percent of Ram 1500 owners and 48 percent of Ram 2500 and 3500 owners count fishing their number one hobby. That makes getting on the water the third most popular non-work activity of all among Ram Truck owners. It’s good to know we’re not alone.
Keep an eye out for Said as he jumps into the big water with some of the most notorious names in angling this year. Shake his hand, wish him luck for us and take a good hard look at his new Outdoorsman while he’s out on the lake stalking bass. Trust us, he won’t mind. Who knows, you might just find yourself looking at your next truck.
