It’s no secret that Texas is truck country. That’s why each fall, all manufacturers flock to Dallas for the State Fair of Texas. Aside from being a mecca of fried food, the State Fair is where the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) crowns its Truck of Texas each year. Last year the 2013 Ram 1500 claimed the crown. The association noted many technological and fuel economy improvements as key to the win. We’re happy to say this year was no different.
When we arrived in Texas, we already knew that we had the most capable and reliable family of trucks on the road. We also knew that our Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel was revolutionary in North America. Luckily for us, TAWA agreed and the 2014 Ram 1500 added its first trophy to the trophy case. In fact, Ram Trucks and Chrysler Group dominated in Texas this year.
In addition to Truck of Texas honors, Ram also won Best Powertrain for our 3.0L EcoDiesel, Best Commercial Vehicle for the 2014 Ram ProMaster, Truck Line of Texas, and Best Technology for our heavy-duty rear coil suspension.
