Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year for 2013 greeted fans with a little Southern hospitality at the Gate 10 entrance.
The first weekend of May is a special time in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s Derby weekend, and simply setting foot upon these hallowed grounds is to understand that, during this weekend at least, Churchill Downs is a different world. The casual dress of the everyday is replaced by massive hats, bow ties, and several pairs of what might be the craziest pants we’ve ever seen. Fact is, Derby-goers take three things very seriously: their fashion, their horses, and their mint juleps—you won’t get far messing with any of those traditions.
One tradition we’re proud to say is gaining traction is the yearly sponsorship by Ram Trucks. For the fourth year in a row, we were the official truck of the Kentucky Derby and, in all honesty, we couldn’t be more proud to take part in what is often called “the greatest two minutes in sports.” Please enjoy highlights from the rain-soaked Ram Trucks presence at this year’s Kentucky Derby.
The Official Truck of the Kentucky Derby stands guard in the main concourse. It was a little wet, but we didn’t mind and it was great for the roses.
The floral arrangements were amazing. However, this is the one place in the world where, if you want to smell the roses, stopping just isn’t an option. Ask the Derby winner and his jockey about what it takes to earn the right to smell the roses at Churchill Downs.
We didn’t let the rain get us down in the Ram Fan Zone located in the infield. Guests took shelter and we still had fun.
The crowds cleared fast after the 139th Kentucky Derby was finished. You can see them heading from tent to tent to stay dry. No one seemed disappointed, though. How could we be? We all just witnessed history.
A special thanks to Churchill Downs and to all the people who help make the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks possible. Also, a special thanks to the city of Louisville for showing us incredible hospitality during Derby Week.
That’s all for us. See you at Derby Week 2014!
