Edward Loh Explains the Real-World Testing of the Ram HD

Stage 2 of testing for the Motor Trend team was so-called “real-world testing”: taking the trucks on city streets and highways — and, in the case of the Ram Heavy Duty, towing a 28-foot, 11,000-pound powerboat. “Very exciting for the people who don’t tow very often,” Loh admits in this video.

But over the course of a week-long test, the Motor Trend team also needed to test true capability and functionality — which, for one test, required Loh and other editors to manually load the truck with 40-pound bags of Morton’s salt.

Chrysler Group Issues Release on Motor Trend 2010 Truck of the Year

rs_DRP10US4_199Recognizing that the “2010 Ram Heavy Duty brings increased capability and innovative new features to the heavy-duty segment with an uncompromising attitude that remains the standard for all full-size heavy-duty pickups,” Chrysler group has issued a release saluting the all-new Ram 2500/3500 pickups for being awarded the Motor Trend 2010 Truck of the Year. The release announces that the Heavy Duty will arrive in dealerships later this month and will start at an MSRP of $28,165 for regular cab models, $31,415 for crew cab models and $36,865 for Mega Cab models.
