All off-roaders know it: that pang of excitement radiating outward through your body’s every nerve just as you turn off the hardtop onto the two-track or open range. The ground changes from blacktop to gravel or dirt, and the first chance you get to lean on the gas, the ground sprays up behind your back end, reminding you how far from civilization you’ve come.

Some dates are not easily forgotten, and for good reason. My how things change! In 1929, a loaf of bread cost a whopping 9 cents. The average price for a gallon of gasoline, 24 cents, was less than half the price of a gallon of milk (58 cents). 1929 also marked the first full year Dodge was in Chrysler possession. At the time, the first-ever half-ton pickup truck designed entirely by Chrysler engineers—the 1929 Dodge Brothers Merchants Express—would set you back a little over $500, not much more than the cost today of many modern bicycles.
For many, the end of the fantasy football season has always signaled the beginning of six long, hard months when fantasy team owners must be content to plan next year’s fantasy strategy, to review what worked and what didn’t, and to otherwise occupy themselves with chores and hobbies that just don’t satisfy to the same degree.

The creator and producer of the premier lumberjack sports event, the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series presented by Ram Trucks, recently announced the launch of Fantasy Lumberjack, the first-ever fantasy game for lumberjack sports. Fantasy Lumberjack will be hosted on the Official STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series Facebook page throughout the 2013 season, which kicks off March 15 with the Southern Qualifier hosted by Auburn University.
