#RamHunterHangout: SHOT Show 2016

As a truck brand, we are proud to be a part of the Outdoor industry – our trucks are built with features designed to support those who have a passion for the outdoors. It’s safe to say that there’s no better way to experience the outdoors than behind the wheel of a Ram Truck.

Ram Trucks is the official truck brand of the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT) in Las Vegas – which gives us the perfect opportunity to catch-up with all of our Outdoor partners. This year at SHOT show, some of our partners stopped by the Ram Trucks display to talk hunting.

Ram Nation United to Give Back in 2015

Ram truck owners are a special breed. Kind, hardworking people with big hearts, looking to do some good in the world. From disaster relief to blood drives or even just cutting a neighbor’s grass, Ram Nation is here to help.

“When we came up with Ram Nation, we had a ton of owners, dealers and corporate people that wanted to give back. These were people showing up in their Ram trucks, asking how they can help…and that’s the way truck people are,” said Bob Hegbloom, head of the Ram Trucks Brand.

The Ram Brand established a partnership with the First Response Team of America in 2012 to help communities across America respond to natural disasters and assist in Ram Nation efforts.

Late last spring, severe flooding and storm damage hit the areas of Wimberley and San Marcos, Texas. Ram Nation helped deliver supplies and help area residents recover from the devastating flooding.

Tad Agoglia, founder of the First Response Team of America, directed the effort and lead the caravan of Ram trucks into the areas in need. texas

“We’re actually dealing with whole houses that have been washed away. There’s so much heavy-duty work that needs to be done, so they can begin the rebuilding process,” said Agoglia.

Tim Wolkowicz, a member of the First Response Team, was part of the team that helped bring relief to the Texas flooding disaster.

“As far as floods go, this is probably one of the worst I’ve seen since I’ve been working with the First Response Team of America. Having all of these people here together really makes things go a lot quicker,” Wolkowicz said.

OAKLAND HILLS COMMUNITY GARDEN, MICHIGAN

Oakland Hills Community Garden is a strictly volunteer community garden in Oakland Township, Michigan. The garden offers children and families a space to learn about healthy eating and growing their own crops. Volunteers from the Ram Trucks corporate headquarters and local dealerships worked with Ram Nation to plant crops and deliver patio blocks, with the proceeds being donated to local oakland hillscharities.

“Serving locally is so important. Now that Ram Nation is teaming up with us … I can’t even imagine the amount of progress we will be able to make,” said Nicolette Jenaras, leader of the Oakland Hills Community Garden.

“Really what we’re doing is we’re enabling our customers to do things that they already like to do. Truck guys are the guys sweating and getting their hands dirty, and doing something that’s making a difference for the community,” said Carl Lally, Senior Manager, Ram Advocate Organization.

MOORE, OKLAHOMA

When a 2-mile-wide tornado touched down in Moore, Oklahoma, the town was devastated. Lives were lost and homes were destroyed. moore

Immediately, the community began to reach out. And soon, Ram Nation members united to help bring relief to the community of Moore.

“It’s hard work, but I think people bond together and the teamwork helps you overcome all of that,” said Dave Sowers, Head of Ram Truck Marketing.

Is Your Ram Truck Ready for Winter?

Winter is on its way, but we bet that doesn’t faze you. You’re a Ram truck owner, ready for whatever nature throws at you. Your Ram truck is equally up to the challenges of tough winter weather — with just a bit of maintenance and preparation.High-Octane2

Advanced vehicles like today’s Ram trucks don’t require extensive winterizing like trucks in the past. Simply review your owner’s manual and service records and make sure your maintenance schedule is up to date. Check all your under-hood fluids, giving the engine coolant level special attention. Inspect your tire pressures and tread wear, and/or install winter tires if you use them. From there, you’re pretty much good to go.
Before winter arrives is also the perfect time to give the windshield wipers and washers a thorough inspection. Snow, sleet and ice will give your wipers and washers an important job this winter. Replace worn wiper blades; check the washer nozzles for proper aim and High-Octane7delivery, and fill the washer fluid bottle with winter-grade windshield solvent. It doesn’t hurt to pick up an extra gallon to stow in the cab. We’ve all tried it both ways, and this we know: Winter driving is far more relaxing and enjoyable when we’re looking through a nice, clean windshield. Enjoy the holiday season, and stay warm!

Be Bold Crew | How a Ram ProMaster® is Bringing Fitness to the City of Detroit

Unknown 10.27.46 AMMeet Terra Castro, founder and head coach of “Be Bold Crew” — a Detroit-based fitness community focusing on empowering athletes to “be bold” in sport and life. Through Terra’s Ram ProMaster — or the “Be Bold Bus” — the Be Bold Crew is able to bring all ages and abilities together as a community.

“Detroit is a special city. I am a very passionate person with a heart for the city and the desire to shine light in what we do.  I could have dwelt on the past and all that happened, but boldly went forward in building what I saw as a need in our city,” said Terra.

“So much of our community doesn’t have access to the equipment or have the funds to join a gym. I wanted to bring training to the people of our city, so I leaped.”

Unknown-1Once Terra had the idea of a mobile pop-up training vehicle, she started to look into options that would help deliver the mission of Be Bold Crew. “I researched other vehicles, but the Ram ProMaster was the perfect fit,” said Terra.

Terra needed a vehicle that could store gear and potentially pull a trailer to transport triathlon bikes to the Be Bold Crew athletes’ races.

“I went to a local dealer, traded in my car for a Ram ProMaster, and now I have a mobile gym.”

With her ProMaster, Terra launched Be Bold Crew’s mobile pop-up training, expanding out into the community so trainingUnknown-2 can be available to everyone in the city.

Terra Castro and the Be Bold Crew provide proof that bold dreams lead to bold actions, and bold results will follow. We are proud to say the Ram ProMaster is a part of that.
