Ram to Enter the Large-Van Market

The Ram Truck brand is officially entering the North American market for full-size commercial vans. Intentions to do so were made clear today at the L.A. Auto Show, where the brand announced development of the new 2014 Ram ProMaster, a workhorse vehicle that, when ready, will blend Ram capability with the large-van size, resulting in yet another way to fulfill the various needs of current and future Ram owners.

2013 Ram 1500 Comparison Chart

By now you must have heard the news—thanks to the Pentastar V-6 / Torqueflite 8 engine-tranny combo, not to mention various other engineering advances (active grille shutters and four-corner air suspension to name but two), the new 2013 Ram 1500 can achieve a best-in-class EPA-estimated 25 highway MPG.

Proud as we are of that number, we’re also well aware that because of work or even personal requirements (camper hauling, for instance), certain prospective Ram owners must necessarily trade better fuel economy in favor of the added power and torque to be gained with a larger engine.
