Cummins Turbo Diesel: The Cleanest Meanest Engine Around

2010 Ram 3500 6.7L Cummins turbo dieselA true workhorse with best-in-class low-end torque, the Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel comes standard on all Ram 3500s. (In fact, it’s the only truck in its class to offer a diesel engine standard.) A truly peerless power train, the Cummins was a key reason that the Ram HD was named Motor Trend’s 2010 Truck of the Year.

But did you know it’s also one of the cleanest, quietest, most eco-friendly motors available? To put it in perspective, the Cummins Turbo Diesel met 2010 emission requirements way back in 2007 — leading the way for the innovations achieved in this year’s incarnation. Cummins used a High Pressure Common Rail fuel system and cooled exhaust gas recirculation to lower emissions. And they didn’t forget noise pollution in the process: the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) dampening features in the 2010 model have led to a 50 percent quieter engine and all-around reduction in cabin noise levels. Wouldn’t you know it: The Ram Heavy Duty is the strong, silent type.

If dodge really wants to improve sales market share the really need to offer a light duty diesel in the 1500

I hope Dodge improves its market share, best trucks around !!! Also,I really would want a new SRT Dodge Ram Quad Cab,lets say with a 6.4 Hemi …? Ford is rumored to have a 411 hp 6.2,C’mon Dodge..500+h.p to stay ahead of the game…..

But….I always loved Diesel Dodge’s…Dually,Diesel in Black for some odd reason I love them as much as SRT-10 Dodge Rams….

What is the real word on mileage from the “new” Cummins diesel? Auto transmission with 3:7 rear gears???
No one wants to put a number out there, at least when I have looked.
    Thanks,
    John

I agree with MZ. Dodge should be working 24/7 to bring the 1/2 ton Dodge pickup with Cummins diesel to market! It would take market share from the others . . . . guaranteed.

    • i love the logo. simple and to the point while cnrleftieg of the feel of the busines name. the diesel in the name give the feel of structural or mechanical, the logo really exemplifies that feel. the only modification i would strongly suggest is to make the lines bolder and remove the greyscale lines. when shrinking the logo for print use, the lines will disappear and become hard to use, thus changing the overall structure of the logo. you really want something thats going to be simple, attractive but also something that you can reproduce easily.nice work.

Who build the six speed manual transmission+

    • Travis; I don’t know how you’re driving your tkrcus but 10mpg in a 5.9 diesel with 6 spd manual is horrible! I get nearly twice that in my ’05 Dodge 2500 diesel with G56 manual tranny. In fact, pulling my 5th Wheel camper, I get about 13.8 on the highway!

DakotaT….Imagine the loss if the diesel 1500 line were to flop. The big three already have their diesels lined up and ready for their half-ton line of trucks. If it wasnt for the economy flopping like it did, we would be seeing diesels in half-ton trucks. But the big three knew, since millions of people were losing their jobs due to the economy, that launching the half-ton diesel line would have been a huge loss to revenue and possibly would have been the demise of the big three. This would have been a HUGE hit to the american job market and who knows what else.

  • Sounds so much clearer doesnt it
